The iPad has revealed the PC and laptop as “industrial tools” to me. Never thought of them that way before.

Jobs nailed the netbook as not being good at anything (except being cheap). I think that could be rephrased as the netbook is a crippled industrial tool that is trying to be something-it-doesn’t-yet-know-what. The iPad is the first iteration of that something-it-doesn’t-yet-know-what.

The technocrazi elite (or technonazis, as I call them, having been one myself…) get hung up that the iPad isn’t an industrial tool. They can only understand it in that context, and it fails in their eyes.
