A study was conducted by the nbcnews about people losing weight. Twelve people shared their journey of losing weight and the challenges they faced in the process.

Different people have different ideas and concepts for losing weight. During their journey, there were people who lost weight with switching to a complete lifestyle change, whereas some chose physical therapy.

While some people opted for rigorous gym training, some choose to dance it off. Doing a physical activity you like, is an advantage. Maintaining that routine will be easier.

Eating unhealthy often leads to health problems. Having an unhealthy diet affects the liver, heart and also the body. There were people who suffered from high blood pressure, high cholesterol and joint problems.

According to health experts, making lifestyle changes like reducing calorie intake or engaging in physical activities is an effective but difficult process. Many people turn to diet supplements hoping that these products will help reduce weight much more easily.

Diet supplement products are available in many forms like tablets, pills, powders, liquids, and bars. Manufacturers of these products claim various aspects related to a reduction in body fat and weight loss.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office reported that most of these weight loss supplements are associated with a potential of physical harm to the body.

It is important to take baby steps. You should smart plan by taking small, smart and short goals first and then walk up the ladder.

A simple step like switching from soda to water makes a huge impact on the body.

Basic activities like climbing stairs, walking, gardening, playing and dancing are considered physical activities. All you have to do is make sure you do enough of them.

A proper balance of the food intake should be maintained. Keeping a track of the food and physical activity helps in check of the daily protein and carbohydrates consumption.

At the end of your weekly target treat yourself. The reward should not in the form of food but any materialistic form. This helps in boosting confidence and brings out positivity.

Moral support is a key element in the weight loss process.

Samantha Cassetty, a New York City-based nutritionist says, “People who lose weight and keep it off don’t go it alone. “I think that support piece is such a critical element”.

Cassetty also says that “If you’re going to spin class to burn a ton of calories but you hate it, there’s no reason to put yourself through that. If you hate it it’s going to be hard to sustain”.

Being overweight is a matter of high concern. Losing weight and being fit helps to live a healthy life. Choosing to live a fit and balanced life is a choice you have to make.
