Hi Hello This is your host Habib Korea. And in this lecture we will discuss about dmvpn phase two using static mappings. If you recall in our previous topic, we walked through the process of testing dmvpn in phase one using Static Map, ping and as well as dynamic mapping. If you haven't seen the lecture please go and look for it and skill share. So, in this lecture, we will talk about dmvpn. Phase two with static mappings is to actually stands for, let's say if r two wants to communicate with our four it will establish a tunnel directly to r four and that tunnel will be a multipoint tunnel GRP multipoint tunnel.

Sometimes you call it an N HRP tunnel and done We'll be between all the spokes. So the traffic does not necessarily reach to our one and then come back down to reach our four or our three. So let's start and hopefully you can follow my steps. And I will advise you to create a similar lab if you have the ability to do it in viral or GNS tree. There will be some configurations on r one r two r three and r four that we need to remove. As this topology is a continuation from the previous lab lapped up we went through that start the switch the internet ISP switch the ISP switches already configured in our basically through our previous topologies that we went through.

We basically configured this which interfaces to be a routing interfaces and we have all So given them static static IP addresses that act as the default gateway for the, for the routers, we're also going to start r1. As we can see this switch has come up and r1 is already up. Let's get to the console of r one. In this in this topic again we are assuming r1 is our hub router. We will just check if the configuration is still there from the previous topic. And make changes as we move along.

Show running config interface tunnel one. Now you have to know that most of the dmvpn configuration is done on the tunnels and we do have configuration already in the in the hub tunnel one there will be no change in this tunnel at all. It is always a tunnel mode URI multipoint This looks good. Let's move to our to starting our to skip it. Give it some time here to bring up the console. Let's check the configuration on our to tunnel one tunnel one IP addresses already given tunnel sources fine.

We will remove the tunnel destination we'll add the tunnel mode multi point configuration. So interface tunnel one No tunnel destination 172 dot 16 dot one dot one. As you can see the tunnel interface came down and we will add tunnel mode gra multipoint. As you can see tunnel one came up we'll add the IP n HRP map as well to 10 to 100 to 100 on one 172 dot 16 dot one dot one dot So we identify our one, IP and HRP map 10 dot 100 dot hundred dot three 172 dot 16 dot dot three dot three, that's our three, IP and HRP map hundred 10 dot hundred dot 100 for 172 dot 16 dot four dot four. Exit Let's save the configuration. This is all what we need for each routers.

This is phase two of the dmvpn with static mappings, this is what we are trying to achieve here to establish a deep dmvpn This looks good. Let's save the configuration. Let's move to router three that started let's go to the console. Let's increase the font. That's better. Our three is up show running config interface tunnel one just to see the configuration of the tunnel.

We have the IP address of the tunnel. We have the IP n HRP, NHS 10 to 100 100 dot one We have to tunnel source we have to change the tunnel destination via remote IP and HRP NHS as well. We only use IP and HRP NHS for dynamic mappings only. So let's do that. And we will also add no tunnel destination 172 dot 16 dot one dot one So, we are removing that. Now, we will put the same configuration we did in our to make the tunnel mode gra multipoint Tunnel Tunnel interfaces up already and we will assign the static mapping for the other side.

So IP n HRP map 10 dot 100 100 dot 111 72 dot 16 dot one dot two dot two or no dot one dot one yes, that's our one IP n HRP map. We'll change that to 172 16 dot two dot two. That's our two. Let's add dot four as well for our four. Exit, hangs it and save the configuration. Show running config interface tunnel one just to verify the configuration.

And it does look good. Let's do let's go to our four and exactly do the same steps by bringing up the console Okay, our floor is up. Let's just verify the configuration on the tunnel one. So same thing. We removed the IP and HRP NHS and the tunnel destination no IP and HRP, NHS 10 dot 100 101 no destination, no tunnel destination 172 dot 16 dot one dot one. Now let's put the actual configuration for phase two static mapping so tunnel mode gra multipoint IP and HRP map 10 dot hundred dot hundred dot one 172 dot 16 dot one dot one, IP n HRP map.

Let's change the last octet here to 172 dot 16 dot two dot two for our two and IP and HRP map 10 100 100 dot 343 172 dot 16 dot three dot three. Exit exit show interface, tunnel one just to verify the configuration So we have completed the configuration for all the tunnels in r two r three and r four. We may have missed something in r two, let's verify. We have to remove here the IP nh RP NHS configuration. Again you have to remember that IP NHIPNHRP NHS 10 100 100 dot one that should be removed and that's only used when we are using dynamic mappings. Now let's just verify the configuration of tunnel one in r two and let's save it let's verify the dmvpn if it has established itself and we should be able to see All the routers we will do is show dmvpn I can see all the three routers communicating with r1 and I know we can ping all the routers.

What we want to verify is if our two wants to communicate with our four if it's gonna skip r1 and it's gonna go directly to our four they should establish mappings. This books should stablish mappings among themselves directly We are going to our to and just verifying something with the dmvpn show dmvpn we can see there's all the tunnels established. And it has stablished dmvpn directly with other routers. So if I ping dot three, so I'm able to ping it will do a trace route just to verify doing trace route to r four. And as you can see it's routing directly to r four and it's not going to r1 This is a good way and this way we can conserve bandwidth for the organization because the traffic will go directly to site number four rather than towards the central router. I hope you have enjoyed this video and let's go to the next topic which is face to dynamic mapping.

Thank you very much
