Knowing how well your funnel is performing is critical. In marketing, we use the term Conversion Rate to measure the percentage of people who complete the goal(s) we want them to. The formula is: Number of Conversions / Number of Visitors *100 If we have 100 visitors to our page, and 30 complete the goal, our conversion rate would be 30%. In this instance, our goals are for them to: On the lead magnet opt-in page – Complete the opt-in form. On the thank you page – Click the book a free strategy session button. On the strategy session page – Book a session and get on your calendar. It is useful for you to know the conversion rate for each of the goals in every step of your funnel. If you use a landing page builder, then this data is usually readily available for you to view and analyze. If you aren’t using a dedicated landing page builder, then you can set up your goals inside Google Analytics. This will give you what Google calls a Funnel Visualisation, where you can see the number of people who ‘convert’ at each stage. It’s easier than it sounds. You just put in the steps of the funnel (URLs of each of the landing pages), and Google does the rest. Here is a step by step of how to do it. Knowing the marketing numbers in your funnel is the first step to making things better. Once you have this information, you can then experiment with changes to make things even better. This is called split testing. You can swap out headlines, try different images, colors, etc. to see which gets the best results. When you have a high-performing funnel (like the one in the picture), you can turn on the traffic tap, confident that it will reliably convert visitors into leads for you.

**You will need a landing page builder (Thrive Architect, Leadpages, Elementor, etc.) and an ESP (Email Service Provider). I recommend ConvertKit, but Drip, ActiveCampaign, InfusionSoft, etc. are all good options. Optionally, a scheduling tool such as Calendly, Acuity, or ScheduleOnce so prospects can book time with you.
