Welcome back to DIY mindfulness part one. In this section, we're going to talk about affirmations. So in this section, you'll learn to identify negative thinking that's pushing to control your life. And you'll create easy and powerful affirmations that support your greatness. Now remember, this is called D, i Y, mindfulness, do it yourself mindfulness because only you have the power to change your life. And as we go through these lessons, to begin to really see the power that we have that regardless of what's going on in the world, you'll learn to stay grounded, you'll learn to manage and watch your thoughts so that you are maintaining your own peace of mind your own stability, and only you can do that.

The more you practice, the better you get. Just like going to the gym, you don't go to the gym. Once Expect to look like a bodybuilder where you don't do the grounding exercise once and think you have it. It's practice you do it over and over again. So what is an affirmation? Well heard of affirmations we all think we you know use them or don't use them.

So why don't you go ahead and jot down in a second here. What is an affirmation in an affirmation is a declaration that something is true. It's a statement intended to provide encouragement, emotional support or motivation. Just do it. I am fantastic. You are great, you know, so we like to use them to motivate not only ourselves but other people.

So this is why I love talking about affirmations. According to the boulder Coaching Academy, research has shown that we have between four 5050 1000 thoughts a day. That's about 150 to 300 thoughts a minute. Research has also shown that for most people, 80% of those thoughts are negative. Now, I'm not saying that 80% of your thoughts are negative, but research has shown for most people that 80% of those thoughts are negative. So look at the picture.

I can't do it. I'm not worthy. I must be perfect. I must not making mistakes. I'm not getting nobody loves me. Look at the woman in this picture.

She looks happy. Yeah. Does she look inspired? No. She's a creative. No, she is burdened by all Have these thoughts and that, you know what it feels like when I'm, you know, maybe having an off day or something didn't go the way that I want it.

And I sit around thinking, you know, I didn't do it. I didn't go well. Whoa is me. So look at the energy. She's like sweating, you know, she's hunched over the burden of carrying all of these thoughts are weighing on her. So unfortunately, some of us are so used to always have any thoughts that we don't even realize that we're carrying this burden.

So instead, it continues with affirmations, making consciously aware of your thoughts. So when you start making conscious positive thoughts, you actually become more aware of the negative thoughts that are always threatening to take over. And that's what I was talking about. So some of us, sometimes I know, I have walked around like, Oh, you know, I didn't even get the job. I didn't you know, just moaning even if it's not to anyone, even if it's just in my head number was that 150 to 300 thoughts a minute. 80% of those are negative sometimes.

So I know that I have to be consciously aware of what I think. Because look at this one. I don't want to walk around feeling like that. I don't want to walk around looking like that. And I'm sure you don't either. There's no fun in that is there?

Do you think you use affirmations? Oh, I can do? Well, we all use affirmations, whether consciously or unconsciously, there are things we affirm without even realizing it. So can you name something you say? Over and over, whether out loud or in your mind. And look at this is just between you and yourself.

So be honest, this is a time for you to be honest. It's not time to try to hide out or to try to look good. Because this is your life. This is Do It Yourself mindfulness. So the more honest you are with these exercises and with yourself, the more you can uncover and the more power you have to actually make changes. So my example, okay, I'm going to be honest here.

And so I recently had someone sending out emails for me about partnering with different organizations. So I got it, I got a response back saying, Hey, we want to talk to you. And I was like, Oh, yeah, this is great. But then I started doing research and I looked, and I was like, wow, this is like a monoculture farming. Like, where do I fit in? Like, why are they interested in me?

My program doesn't fit in. So What was I saying? I don't fit in. Have you ever said I don't fit in? So I said, I don't fit in and that literally went out into the universe. And now I can't reach the company, because I said, I don't fit in.

So why do some affirmations work? and some don't you wonder? Well, affirmations are always working, you may not realize what you're telling yourself. So I didn't realize that I was still saying and still believing that I don't fit in. But when I looked at this organization, and my thought was, wow, I don't fit into that. Then I really got to see where I still have that belief.

I still have that thought, in my mind. So affirmations are always working. I just not be may not realize what I'm saying. You may not realize what What you're saying over and over, so if you go around saying things like, Oh, I'm stupid, like this car, I'll never find a mate, I don't fit in. And that is exactly exactly what's gonna show up in your life. See, every word you speak is energy.

Energy goes out and out of your mouth, out into the world, and it's fulfilled. And if you stay with your thoughts, everything that you think everything that you say is going out into the world. Remember, we started with these lessons talking about, we live in a mental universe of everything starts with a thought. So I have a thought that I don't fit in. I send it out into the world. And the universe says okay, well, if you say so, then my experience becomes one of not fitting in.

So if you're affirming, I will never find the perfect name that literally goes out into the world. What happens, you'll never find a perfect way. So it's just time for us to start really paying attention to what we're thinking and what we're saying. Because your thoughts are creating your life. So if you're not paying attention, you don't realize the tremendous power, that you have tremendous power that you are. Everything that showing up in your space is a reflection is being mirrored back to stop.

The type of work that you have what you believe is possible for yourself. It starts here it starts in my mind. I speak it, I think it it goes out into the world. So we want to start using our thoughts and our words for our benefit, not our detriment. Now, most people like pizza, I love pizza. So this is like a rotten nasty pizza but I like to use pizza as an example.

Okay, so we can Talking about 80% of stocks being negative. So say you've got this pizza, and you cut this pizza into 10 slices. So if we're saying that or the coach Academy is saying that 80% of those thoughts are negative, that means that whole pizza, only two slices are good. What a waste of pizza. So out of this whole pizza, so if I go through my day with negative thoughts, then by the end of the day, I'm just gonna have this little piece of my life that was positive, that was joyful. And that was peaceful, just like the pizza.

So you want to really pay attention to what you're saying what you're thinking because you're creating your life, moment to moment, and you don't want to create lots of rotten pizza. You want to create more of this delicious cheesy, gooey pizza, whatever you like on whatever topping, and you get the point, we want to spend 80% of our time on positive thoughts but not the other way around. We're going to move on to the affirmation side. So I want you to come up with two positive affirmations that make you feel powerful and good way to keep them short and simple. So that easy to remember. And notice how you feel when you say when you when you're creating affirmations.

You want it to like resonate through your whole body like I am magnificent. I am wonderful. I am smart. So here's an example of positive affirmations and those are just short these are I am worthy. I am worthy note too many of us walk around like feeling like we're not worthy. We're not good enough.

I am worthy, you are worthy. I am lovable. I am smart. I always have everything I need. I have lots of good things I in healthy, I feel good in my body. So why don't you go ahead and pause the video while you do the exercise.

And then we'll go on to the worksheet so pull out your worksheet and then go over that. And you can pause I'm just gonna keep going. So on your worksheet, did you identify any negative thoughts that you were unaware of? So like I said, for me, the I don't fit in, came up so quickly when I was looking at the organization. So did you find anything like that for yourself? Like, I don't fit in or I'm not smart enough or not good enough.

So really just be with these worksheets, these worksheets are for you. This is not for you to share and To tell other people about unless you want to. This is really your own personal work your own personal transformation work. So be honest, because you can't be honest here, then you're really doing yourself a disservice. Be honest. Like, you don't have to worry about being embarrassed because there's no one else around.

So really dig deep in there. So write down your two supportive affirmations. Like I said, keep them short and sweet. I am wordy. I always have everything I need. And when you say them, you want them to like feel good.

You want to use positive words in them, and you want them to be just short and easy to remember. How does it make you feel to say your positive affirmation to yourself, it's supposed to feel really good and powerful. It's supposed to draw you forward into a new realm of possibility. So, repeat your affirmations throughout the day and I want you to add this affirmation. I am magnificent. I am magnificent.

When I said I just I feel chills I am magnificent. So, I am is connecting with universal source energy so, really be aware of what you put after I am because you are claiming, do you don't want to say stuff like I am stupid. I am not good enough because it's like you're connecting with universal source energy, the I Am Presence. So when you say things like I am not good enough, that's going out and that's creating that in your life. I am magnificent. I am worthy.

I am smart. So as I am magnificent and say that we wake up in the morning, say that before you go to bed at night, because that is setting your space. So if you wake up saying I am magnificent, but what kind of day do you think is possible to create first? So I am magnificent start your day with that intraday with that and see how you feel. That's it. That's it for affirmation.
