Hi, this is Steve Chase. And I specifically created this Excel course to help my students really understand the power that involves around knowing Excel. As we live in a knowledge economy, it's ever important that you have the ability to use a tool like Excel to quickly find the data that you're looking for. And then also present to others your findings. So this course will focus on starting off with an understanding that we are going to import data into Excel and we're going to have information are right there at our fingertips, and then we're going to then go ahead and start to analyze it and present it in a nice format away. So we'll focus on first gathering tables and understanding the features of sorting and filtering data to make it easier to perform calculations.

We'll look at Conditional Formatting which then we'll see a version variety of different ways to showcase your data with data bars, icon sets, top numbers, load numbers, there's trying to find anything that's weird with your data. So you can have those aha moments to present that. Then we'll get into formulas. And if you're intimidated about formulas, I am here to help you get confidence with understanding the basics of formulas, absolute referencing, and then we'll look at using excels built in formulas called functions. And we'll look at a variety of what I've hand picked functions that will really assist you for the beginner, intermediate type folks out there. We'll also look at Goal Seek to present some really crafty ways to get formulas to share what you want them to share with manipulating data.

And we'll have a lesson on working with pivot tables which are very powerful ways of reporting your data sets after you group your data and summarize the records of your workings.
