Hello, and welcome. I'm Peter rackleff. And welcome to this meditation course, where you're going to learn a lot about meditation about how to do it, and how to put it into a lock practically. Just a little bit about the course about myself, just to give you a little bit of framework of where it comes from. You see, I've always been interested in meditation, and I'm an advocate of whatever works for you, then you should try it. So I studied lots of different philosophies from Buddhism to Jainism to Hinduism, Sufism, I've also studied a lot of different branches of psychology and science, like near linguistic programming and things like that.
And for me, this causes a fusion of all of those elements. So what I will say is that In all of those, that time, I've had a number of teachers. And I want to first acknowledge those great teachers, teachers, like from the eastern traditions like lama chodesh I Gen, Santi Cairo, His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, like your chins and, and people like that, that I've learned an enormous amount from, as well as people from a more scientific side of things. People like Robert dilts, and grant Sue lassoo, and Richard bandler, and john grinder and many other neuroscientists and psychologists, that I've learned from over the years. So I will say that nothing that I'm teaching here is really my own. And I'm very much dedicated because I'm simply just passing on the knowledge that I've learned through my life to us so that can be as useful to us is for me, but what I can say is that I have experienced everything that I'm going to teach you in this course.
So I'm very much an advocate. If you're going to teach something, then that teaching needs to come from your own experience. So you can speak with authority. And not only have I had the experience in my own meditation practice of using all of these techniques, I've been a teacher now for over 10 years, I've been meditating for about 25. And I've been teaching for about 10 years. And all of my students have got so much out of these different techniques that I know with confidence that they will work for everyday people like you and me.
And so with that out of the way, I'd also like to let you know that what I've done in this course is I've structured the teachings to be first of all, there's a lot of teachings about what meditation is, what it isn't, how it works, and how to do it. And so there's a lot of information which I believe is very, very important for you. To set a good foundation for a meditation practice, and then of course, we get into the guided meditations. And I actually teach you step by step, how to do that meditations. But although the sort of knowledge behind the meditation can be a bit a little bit dry for some people, and I know many of you are eager to jump into the meditation as promised, we'll do that straight away. But it is definitely worthwhile going through the theory behind meditation so you understand what meditation is and how it works, and I guarantee you that will make you a better meditator.
So, enough about the course and about me, let's jump in and we'll jump in. First of all with a quick meditation on setting your intention because that is such an important thing to do. At the beginning of anything new, you start
