So in this video, I wanted to talk about a freelancing site called Upwork. Upwork was formerly known as oDesk. And there's another company called Elance. That's actually migrating into Upwork. So really, this is the number one place I currently recommend you go is upwork.com. I quickly just kind of wanted to show you their landing page, you can go and check it out for yourself, I will leave a link.

But basically, you can go here and hire pretty much anyone. And as you can see, you can find both virtual assistants and people that can write content, blog writers, content writers, copywriters, really anything you could possibly need. This site is really well known, you know, Autodesk has been around for some time. I've been using it for years. Initially, when I started out, you know, I had some fear of just going out there and hiring like a free you know, virtual assistant basically. But what I found was that you can find people to work for you so, so cheap, I mean, I actually just hired someone the other day to post like, some products on A site that I have and literally I'm paying them like $3 and 33 cents an hour.

When it comes to writing, obviously, you can find people on here that you could probably have 500 word article done for three or four bucks. But generally, you're going to find that it's going to be someone from another country and you know, the, it's not really going to come out the way you want it to which I know I've mentioned in the past videos. So really, what you can do with this is you can get pretty strict and how you want to find people, you can have them basically apply to your job. So what I'm going to do today, in this video, I'm actually gonna I've logged into my, my account, and I could pick a previous job or basically decide to start from scratch. So I'm going to just go through this with you and kind of show you how I'd go about this. Here.

I'm going to pick writing and then now I've got all these different topics. So you know, maybe we want let's just say we want article and blog writing. Let's call this cat particles. And I'm not going to go crazy, but they kind of give you an idea. You know, it's obvious, a short one to two sentence job overview what you need the freelancer to do the key skills that they need. And, you know, obviously, you're gonna want to be in depth here, you know, even if you want, you might even be able to leave a website URL, if relevant.

I don't know if there's any real policy against that. But I've found that a lot of cases people will leave like a website, you can go check something out, depending on the type of job for writing, I don't think you'll really need that unless it's something you're more serious about. I'm just gonna say I need a cat article. not gonna do anything crazy there. And you can't put in skills. So we'll just say article writing, blog writing, content writing, and you know, creative, that's fine.

We don't need them to be technical writers to do this. I just throw in some keywords, they might have some of those. And we could say, well, either we want to pay them by the hour for the work or we could do a fixed price. Generally. I'd say for content, you're probably gonna want to look at something That's more fixed price. I mean, you could kind of test this out for yourself and try it.

You know, of course, here you get to choose an experience level. So, you know, except less experience for a lower price. So $12 or under 12 to 28 or an expert $20 or more, you can throw in a budget. So let's just say, actually looks like you need to spend at least $5. I think if you're doing hourly, see what happens if I do hourly? Yeah, so it's probably just gonna, if I pick that it doesn't allow me to put in a specific hourly rate.

Well, what's gonna happen is you'll see that when people apply, you can see what their hourly rate is. So I'll go back to fixed price. Well, we'll just say an intermediate person. And we'll say this ends tomorrow. And generally, unless you have some special people, maybe what you would want to do is eventually once You start hiring people, you could actually set this up. So it's invite only only people I've invited.

So in my case, I had worked with someone a year ago that did some of this product stuff for me. And they reached back out and said, Hey, do you have any new work, and I just happen to have to work. So I made a new job. And I actually allowed it's only only that person could get my invite only people I invite could get it. So I was able to personally invite her to the job. And then there are all the terms are set up in that one specific job.

I've categorized it for the work she's going to be doing. So in this case, you know, if we want someone new, give my job maximum exposure. And, you know, generally, maybe you're looking for multiple people to come in and write articles. I'm just gonna say I want one person, you could attach a document completely optional. And then you could actually add qualifications. So I could say, I want them to be someone that's independent, not necessarily working through an agency.

I'd like them to have at least a 4.5 star feedback. I'd like that. To have worked at least an hour on the platform, you know, maybe you could even increase this, you could say I wanted, I want some expert content writer that's worth over 100 hours. And they're really, you know, good at using up work or whatever. So let's just say I want someone that's worth at least an hour. And then you can actually choose a location.

So in my case, you know, I want someone in America, so I'll do North America, English level. And this is obviously really important. You know, we probably want someone that's native, if we want something really high quality has complete command of the language with no discernible accent. So then you can actually require a cover letter, which is pretty cool because they have to send you kind of like a little bio introducing themselves, so you know that they're a real person. Well, part of the project most appeals to you. So these are general questions that Upwork throws in, you could actually add other questions.

So you could create your own and say, you know, why do cats interest? Whatever you want, and you could remove these and I'm not gonna lie post this, but if you post this, what's going to happen immediately you're not going to get any, you're going to start getting emails that people have applied to the job. But usually within I'd say 24 hours, it's very probable if something like this, you're going to get, even with all these restrictions, I guarantee you're probably going to get some good response. A lot of people coming in. The other thing that's pretty important with some of these sites, too, is you want to make sure you're categorizing things really well. Because I know, at least on Elance, you can't apply to every single category, depending on what you're doing.

I don't know if that's the case on Upwork actually, but I know on Elance there's a little bit of I can't like apply to jobs that are in the IT category, just kind of annoying because people always put jobs in that category that I could do myself. But anyway, that's pretty much up work. Not really a whole lot to it. It will be a little bit of a learning curve if you've never used it but just really wanted to walk you guys through this and show you So I hope this helped.
