Alright, let's talk about creating foods really quickly. And the difference between creating a food and creating a meal. So creating a meal, as we just saw, is just a grouping of different food items that are part of the myfitnesspal database that you've already recorded just for future use. So it's easy to recall. Now creating a food is different. Because it's something that supposedly doesn't exist in the fitness tile database.

Maybe you haven't found anything that meets the criteria that you know that food is made up of certain macronutrients, and you haven't seen anything like it. So you want to create it. So you just go ahead and click Create food. And if it's a brand or a restaurant, you can enter that if let's say it's a I don't know. Joe's, and then the food description is like a sandwich. I'm just being real generic here, but anyway, If it'll see if the if it thinks the food that you're looking for is already in the database somewhere, it'll give you a bunch of suggestions.

If not, this is not a duplicate, you can go ahead and create it. So now once you create this food, let's say this is where you actually enter the steps of the macronutrients for that food. So let's say first, the serving size is one sandwich. And then servings per container one and then this is where you actually enter. Okay, let's say you know, the sandwich has like 20 grams of protein, and 50 grams of carbs, and like 20 grams of fat. So what is that?

50 Plus 2070 times four to 80 plus 180 would be 460 calories. So I think Did that math quickly in my head. But the point is, you'll know what the different macros are for the food that you're creating. And then you'll just be able to enter the macros and the calories. You can fill out these other items if you want to like the vitamins and whatever, but it's not that important. You can choose whether to add it to your diary at the time or if you even want to make this food public so that other My Fitness Pal members can use it you can check this box here.

Since this is just an example I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to add it to my diary. I'm just going to save it. So now I've saved this Joe's sandwich that I couldn't find anywhere else. And I can recall it, you know if I want to. There it is the Joe sandwich, the calories and the macros that I've entered.

And now if I want to let's say I want to record it and Have a lunch or something for later in the week, I can do that. And it'll just be under add food and instead of meals, you'll go to my foods and there is the Joe sandwich just check on that. And then click Add checked. And there it is. 460 calorie food is just one line item that you've invented. And but, but there it is.

So this is this is for foods that don't exist that you can't find anywhere. But you know what the macros are, you want to create it for yourself. This is good for like home cooked meals and recipes that maybe nobody else has recorded but you know what they are for for your own benefit. Alright, so that's how to create a food
