Hi, welcome to section three. In this section, we're gonna be talking about confronting roadblocks or obstacles or hurdles, the things that get in your way from you achieving the pivot successfully. So what are the things that you say that stop you from achieving this this goal or this outcome? So the biggest and most exciting things we want to achieve in our lives are oftentimes really hard. But that's part of the beauty of pursuing them. Nothing that's too easy is especially gratifying.

The sense of fulfillment and satisfaction that we get from achieving goals is often due to the hard work, persistence and guts that it took to actually do it. Right. So like, if you go hiking, and you decide you're going to hike a little hill, that's great. You might get a minimal sense of satisfaction based on how many other people were able to do it. How much was the time commitment? How much was the effort required.

But if you decide to hike a mountain, that is three times the height, and that requires preparation and requires better physical health requires more determination, more persistence, more tests more bravery, than the level of satisfaction and level of of gratification that you'll feel from pursuing that will be significantly greater. I mean, let's consider not everyone wants to hike big mountains, but whatever your the outcomes that you're looking to achieve are, the more challenging the more risk and an effort required to achieve it, the better it is, the more gratifying it becomes. It's always easiest to just stay with things as they are and not Implement the change. But that oftentimes doesn't go in line with what our inner selves most want. What our inner self is asking us for oftentimes is changed or do something differently. To change of direction changes speed, change of focus.

But for many avoiding that change at all costs is a strategy that they've committed to. But without change comes no growth. For the trees to be able to bloom beautifully in spring, they must lose their leaves and falls. This is kind of the deal of the seasons and how things progress and how things evolve and how things change. And the same is true for ourselves. In order to achieve great things, we must be willing to risk ourselves and change directions put ourselves in uncomfortable positions to be able to achieve New great things.

So to feel more realistically capable of pursuing your dreams and confronting the change, you must really Stickley, see what's stopping you from doing it. And that's what we're going to be doing in this section. So, the first thing that I'd like to break down together here is reasons versus excuses. Because some plans might not be viable, and that's okay. But ideally, we're recognizing that from here before we go ahead and make a detailed plan. So if you've sat down and realistically, given your biggest, biggest effort to finding solutions to the hurdle that stopped you from moving forward with this plan.

Then maybe the goal the plan, the dream isn't viable. Maybe if that's what you realize at this point in the course, that you have a hurdle that is Not, that is inevitably going to block you and won't let you move forward, then maybe it's time you go back to your outcomes, reassess them and recreate some new ones that are more valid based on your circumstance. So basically, until you've stopped and actually considered possible solutions to get around the obstacles that you've determined, all the reasons you give her excuses. So this is something we do so regularly. We talk so freely about our dreams, our goals, quite mindlessly. In fact, we don't stop and really seriously consider them and seriously consider what stops us from achieving them.

So we talk Oh, yes, I would love to travel Yes, I would like to start my business I would love to work as a as an artist. And then mindlessly we'll give the excuse as to why we're not doing it. The thing we kind of just casually throw out, as though it is the reason that stops us. But if you haven't really sat down and considered that obstacle, then that's just an excuse. That's just something you're easily giving away without thought. Once an excuse has become a valid explanation, it can become a reason.

So if you've sat down, so I want to travel the world, and the excuse I always casually throw out is that I don't have the money. If I sit down, and honestly consider every possible solution to this problem, and realistically find that there's no way that I can have the money to travel not now not ever, then we can say that that is a valid reason. The likelihood of there being no alternative is quite slim, but you're the one who gets to decide this. You're the one who's going to be assessing the roadblocks. You're the one who's going to be dissecting them, and seeing how valid or not, they are. So just keep into consideration how extensive you are about your investigation about how many alternatives or solutions there are to overcoming these hurdles.

So before concluding that a reason is actually valid, consider whether you've taken the appropriate amount of time or not to creatively come up with a solution. This like creativity issue often comes up as a reason why we don't solve problems, because we keep ourselves in boxes of possible solutions, as though if this is the problem, and this This must be the type of solution that I come up with. But what if you thought outside of that box? What if you came up with solutions that were just different to how you would always done it or different to how people you know had always done it? What if you just like bursted out That box and came up with solutions that could actually help you achieve the outcome that you're looking to achieve. because ideally, that's what we're looking to do here, we're looking to recognize the roadblocks and find solutions around them.

So bust out that creativity and help it help you figure out ways around these hurdles. Another thing to consider here is priorities. Sometimes it's not that the initial excuse that we've given is the actual problem, but a mindset or an ideology that we hold on to that's the issue. So maybe I always tell everybody how much I would love to travel the world, but that would stop me from doing it as money. But then when we look have a serious look at my spending habits, we recognize that I spend quite mindlessly on going out for dinners and buying a lot of clothes, then the issue is no longer money's but my priorities of spending to have dinner out in restaurants. To buy clothes.

So the, the the question becomes, which is more important. So again, I'm not here to determine what your priorities should be or what your priorities are. I'm just bringing this out as an idea to consider as you're going through your own list of obstacles. So, so throughout this section of the course, you'll be looking at your outcomes. And then for each outcome that you're looking to achieve, you're going to list out the possible obstacles that could potentially stop you from successfully achieving that outcome. And then from there, you'll determine whether they're valid excuses, valid reasons or excuses.

And that'll be for you to determine some common roadblocks that come up quite often, in all types of circumstances no matter what the outcome you're looking to achieve is first off money. Money is often sometimes something that we use as an excuse as to why we don't do certain things. But really funnily enough, I think that the real thing that stops us when we use money as an excuse is fear. Fear is something that blocks us from doing a lot of things. And I totally understand why are coming outside of your comfort zone, doing things that scare you doing. Striving for goals that feel bigger than you is scary.

There's a lot of things that could stop you. Fear of failure, fear of not being accepted of not being understood. fear of being left out fear of, of lacking money of not being secure financially. So although it's important to if money feels like a roadblock to you, by all means, dissect that within the workbook section of this course, but consider the possibility that Fear might be an underlying problem within the money issues. In fact, fear is such an important factor to consider here that I've created a whole separate work workbook document, for you to be able to dissect the fears that you hold on to and that stuff potentially could stop you from being able to achieve this pivot successfully. From there, you'll break down what the fear is what you could potentially do to avoid the having that outcome happen.

And you'll see all the rest of the details from there. I find for me, personally, I do quite a lot of things that scare me, I, I've learned to quite enjoy confronting fears. And I feel like the best way that I've been able to do this or that I'm regularly able to do this for myself is by recognizing the presence of fear and accepting that it's going to be there with me. It just makes the whole experience my relationship with fear has become different. It's not that I love being scared, but sometimes it because I've changed the way that I look at fear, it now seems much more manageable. It seems like something that doesn't intimidate me as much as it has in the past.

Another thing that often blocks us from being able to achieve the outcomes that we'd like to in our lives, our limiting beliefs. So most of the things that we believe about ourselves, about the world, about other people about values about everything have pretty much been set in stone since childhood. And if we never take the time, to requestion those ideologies, they may be blocking us from being able to achieve things that we want in our lives. So this would be as good a time as any to start having a look at those limiting beliefs, things that blocked you from being able to achieve these things, so these might be things like I should do this, I need to do this to be successful. A nice life must look like this. I am this kind of person, just kind of bringing those out and seeing whether they're valid for you or not.

And that will all be broken down within the content PDF. Another excuse we often give is logistical details. So I don't travel the world because I have a house, where would I put all my things? I have a mortgage to pay, or I would love to change jobs. But my accountant already has the details for whatever. We use minor logistical issues, to stop us from achieving things that could potentially make us really happy in life.

So here's just a nice time to have a Look at those things that you say, kind of again mindlessly about why you're not doing the things that you'd love to in your life and see whether they're valid or not. And then finally, and very importantly, another reason why we often that often blocks us from achieving the things we'd love to in our lives or other people. So either because we're scared to disappoint them, we're scared to leave them behind. We're scared that they'll stop loving us. And from here, again, like all the other points, I encourage you to be honest with yourself about what the reality of the situation is, what that means to you, and try and really take the time to dissect those ideas. Often realistically, if we are in relationship with somebody who loves us, and I mean any type of relationship, whether it be romantic with a family member with a friend, and they truly care about us and our well being there should be be no reason why they would be a barrier to us achieving these outcomes that we would love.

Because True Love doesn't limit one's growth and one's happiness, it should do the exact opposite. It should be expanding it and helping your loved ones should be there to help you to push you towards becoming the best version of yourself that you can, and living the life context that would most make you happy, even if that means maybe spending less time with them, or giving them less attention, or whatever it is. So again, like I've already mentioned in this section, I'm not here to decide what is right or wrong. But it's just trying to bring out some ideas that you can look at to give your pivot the best chance of success. And maybe you'll find that you confront roadblocks that aren't on this list. And if so great.

This is by no means a complete list. This is just to give you an idea of some common hurdles that we confront when trying to make some changes in our life. So have a look at the content document, have a look at the workbook documents in this section. There are two of them, like I said, one for the fears, and then one for just a general assessment of the roadblocks. So good luck with those tasks, and I'll see you again in the next section.
