In this lesson, we will develop the leader in pace with business. We will talk about how your leadership impacts your business and your entrepreneurship, whether you are leading yourself or leading others, or both. Although the aim of most entrepreneurs is expanding business, you realize when business has grown out of their habitual way of leaving it, those who do struggle to adjust to new demands. Although the aim of most entrepreneurs is expanding business, few actually realized when business has grown out of their habitual way of leaving it, and even those who do struggle to adjust to new demands. Going from startup working on your own into becoming an employer puts new demands on your ability to express your thoughts. As the company grows, you reach the point where you can no longer be an active part of each decision and need to replace your own process with a trust in the People who have hired and the way you implement your company values in the organization.

This means that you as a leader, need to put some effort into actually sharing your values, sharing what constitutes your company, so that you can trust your employees to have landed. This also means that you sometimes have to back down, trust the people you hire to do things, let them do their job. This is a really challenging personal journey, revealing beliefs about self and others. In order to see what's blocking the way and go into a change of mindset. The entrepreneur needs time and a safe space to question old truths and try out new ones. You really need to dare challenge yourself here.

Listen to what you believe and listen to what you are actually doing to your company. To put mindset into play, when facing company challenges is the key to The entrepreneur being able to see where he is blocking himself and or his employees. You need to test see where you are actually a big block, where you are constraining your company. The needs of the company might be about you. Sometimes when you haven't developed as a leader, you try to hold on too tight and too fast. You try to keep things the way they were to try to be what you were, but your new organization needs something else.

And you become the bottleneck that everything has to pass through. Even though you have hired some really brilliant people, they can't do their job because you are holding them back. That's a tough insight to have and a tough challenge to work on. But you can do it I'm sure. Another big challenge is realizing that the people you work with and the people who have hired are actually better than you. Hiring the people that know more than you do is a difficult trestle to cross.

Actually letting these people influence your company is an even bigger one. It takes courage to actually dare employ people who know more than you, who can excel you in skills and knowledge in particular areas. But when you do remember, you are still the entrepreneur, you are still the basis of all of this, you are the foundation that they need to work on. So stem tight, and let them Excel. If you can actually let them influence your company as well, you will see that your company will benefit from their strengths. And you add more value than yourself to add the other people's values.

And it's a nice thing they're actually offering to sell it to you. That's what they do. You hire them. They sell their knowledge and you get to benefit from it in a company dare to do that. Leadership is partly about daring people to be what they are daring take profit from that and daring to actually let them develop. In order to do that, there are some questions you need to think of.

What kind of leader Do you want to be? What kind of leader does your team need? Sometimes these two answers cooperate, sometimes they don't. Your job is to develop the leader you are in pace with the needs of your business. Take leadership classes, read leadership literature, join networks, hire coach, do what it takes for you to step into the kind of leadership your people need, or the kind of leader you need to be for yourself. And don't forget, sometimes the best action of leadership is to give the role of manager to someone who wants it and can feel it.

Your best potential might be in other places like business development, visionary work or product development. day to day management is a job to be done. Maybe you are simply the leader of the person doing it. Leadership worked in many levels. Be sure that you work on the level you are supposed to be here. And now for today's exercise.

Let's explore what kind of leader you are striving to be. This simple practice I call the leader wanting to grow. Once again, all you need is a piece of paper and a pen. Right on it talked about the names of three leaders you admire. Might be famous one might be your preschool teacher, you decide three names of leaders you admire. gotta write them step two of the exercise next to the name to them, right what signifies them and what you admire them for Just one or two words, no more.

What are the traits you admire in them? Very. And then step three of this exercise. You now have a list of three to six words, describing the ideal leader in your mind. This is what you unconsciously strive to achieve as a leader. How are you doing this?

And is it what your team needs? What do you need to develop these traits and other necessary for your team? Do it. Got it? Great. Then, keep doing this.

Keep thinking of this and keep thinking of what your team needs. And we'll be back in lesson four.
