In this lesson we are going to cut and assemble our PDF pattern. The tools for this lesson is your PDF pattern. When you print your PDF pattern make sure you are printing at 100% or actual size. You also need your paper scissors as well as some scotch tape. So go ahead and print out your pattern. Grab your scissors and tape and let's get started.

Now that you have printed your pattern, let's go ahead and cut and assemble the pattern pieces. So each pattern piece will have a number and it will also have instructions. For example, this pattern piece is pattern piece one a and it's your main top and it says attached to one B and it also has fold over here on the side and I'll explain what the fold is when we're cutting out the fabric. It also has a triangle here. This triangle will coordinate with the triangle on pattern piece one B, which is your main bottom piece. Alright, so this is pattern piece one be your main bottom and you have your triangle here in the corner.

It has the fold here on the side as well as you also have your instructions. Here. It says one B main bottom attached to one a cut to a fabric and cut to have woven interfacing. Each pattern piece will have different instructions and you will also have pattern pieces that need to be attached to one another. I'm going to go through I'm going to cut out each pattern piece and instruct you on which pattern pieces need to be attached and which pattern pieces you just cut around the solid lines. So let's get started doing that.

So let's cut and assemble our pattern pieces. You're going to need your paper scissors and you're going to need some scotch tape. All right. pattern piece number six, your strap tab, you're just going to cut around the solid line. also prepared on piece one eight your main top, you're going to cut around the solid line For handpiece one B, where you have your triangle and it says attach to one eight, which you're going to do, you want to take one eight. You want to line up the triangles.

Leave this excess on one beam because you're not needed. So hold the pattern piece in place when you take right so once you get it lined up nice and straight take your tape just take the pieces together I like to take the back as well just for extra security. Now that you have your two pattern pieces attached, go ahead and just cut around the solid lines. All right, you'll notice that pattern piece one a and one B that just attached. It has a square here. Go ahead and cut out that square.

So Just cut the solid lines in the inside the square just like this. All right, so your pattern he should look like this with the square in the corner cut out. Alright, so for pattern piece number four you'll just cut around the solid line pattern piece number two a your lining you're going to attach it to be so cut around the solid line. So you're going to take pattern piece to be your lining and attach to to a matching unit. triangles just like before pieces one a and one B. Once your pattern pieces taped together, cut around the solid line and also put the square piece just like you did for one eight and one beat.

So cut out the square as well. Right so your pattern piece number two, A and B should look like this with your cut out square. pattern piece number three, which is your front pocket, you'll cut around the solid line as well as cut out your square. and pattern piece number five and seven, you'll just cut around the solid lines. Now that we have all of our pattern pieces cut and assembled, let's go over each of the pattern pieces that you should have. You should have pattern piece number one Which is your main topping your main bottom and on your instructions you'll see where it will tell you to cut to a fabric and cut to a woven interfacing.

Now, if you're using an upholstery wait fabric or canvas or denim, you only want to need the woven interfacing. But if you're using a cotton cloth fabric you will need to cut instead of to have woven interfacing, you will need to cut to a fusible fleece. You should also have pattern piece number two which is your lining piece. And for your lining you want to have lining fabric into woven interfacing. pattern piece number three you're going to cut one of fabric and one of lining and to have woven interfacing Patterns number four is you're facing you're going to fit to a fabric and to have woven interfacing. pattern piece number three.

This is your recessed zipper flap you're going to cook for fabric and cut for a woven interfacing. pattern piece number six is your strap tab you're going to cut to a fabric and to have woven interfacing and pattern piece number seven. Your is your slip pocket you're going to cut for fabric and for of woven interfacing for pattern piece number three your front pocket. If you're using a cotton cloth for this, you will also need to cook one of fusible fleece. Alright so those are All of our pattern pieces, I will write detailed instructions that will be in your course materials that will let you know the types of fabric and the types of interfacing that you will need. So when I mentioned that you'll need to cut fusible fleece if you're using a cotton cloth, I will make sure I detailed that information in your course materials.
