This career path is not for the timid, it is different every day, challenging every day and super rewarding. Especially for those of us who want to be a part of our client's meaningful, sometimes emotional, special occasion services! I am here for you. Reach out anytime with any questions! You will find all of my contact information and links in the bonus section.
Here is a sneak peek video of all the styles you will learn in this course.
Sleek Chignon
This sleek, smooth Chignon has a formal high end feeling to it. The overlapping pattern gives it an edge! This hairstyle is art itself.
I call this a beach-worthy wedding chignon! It is not curled and the wind will only make it look better! Another hair wrapping design.
Though this design looks complicated, it is not. A very simple, yet elegant and romantic chignon that stands out. There are many ways to ornament these designs. After doing brides for so long, I started created headpieces and was able to really be involved with her whole look! Take your career as far as you desire. I am here for you.
Here is another way to do a simple and quick chignon. Maybe the bride gets the fancy one but when a bridesmaid shows up late, or another one asks for an updo who did not want one before.....because...now that she sees that your "good"...and time is running short, this is a chignon to the rescue! I have done hundreds of wedding mornings and you've got to be able to shift with a professional attitude and grace no matter what.
Enjoy this clear demonstration of how to curl your hair three ways with one tool. If you want curls in the bottom of your half-up the style this video is a perfect resource for you. If you are doing curls for body and an updo prep, be sure to clip each curl after you make it. Once they are cooled, let them down and begin your hairstyle!
Within this tutorial, you will learn how to prep the hair or section for a large pin curl. Teasing is a part of this. Some people have asked if I use hair nets. I have never used hair nets for my looks, but you are welcome too! Use this new skill to enhance all of your updo styles where you feel pin curls will be a fabulous addition!
Hot rollers are a great tool to have for your updo clients. I see many people rely on using just a curling iron, but mastering hot rollers saves time. Setting a client in hot rollers gives her a break to rest emotionally for her upcoming special occasion and allows you to start on another updo increasing your per-hour intake. This is also a great time to send her to the make-up artist. If a client sits a long time in one spot, they can get antsy and stressed. We want to prevent that for her special day!
This video shows the process of doing coils in an updo or hairstyle. They are a lot of fun and can be adapted for different styles. The wedding looks, party hairstyles and everyday wear! No matter the thickness of hair or the varying lengths of hair, coiling is an option.

Everyone loves Chignons! They are classic and easy to do!

In this course, you will learn four different ways to create a chignon.

As always my tips, tricks, and ideas will enhance your own creativity and help you to become an updo and hairstyling pro. Watch and interact with the videos. Practicing these methods and skills will grow your client's list and impress your friends and family.

  • Do you love hairstyles?

  • Do you want to learn and gain confidence in doing hairstyles?

Then this is the place to come back to over and over!

I hope to see you inside!

Requirements

Watch the videos all the way through to see what you may specifically need for each course. In general, this is a basic list:  A blow dryer, a small teasing brush/comb, a rat tail comb for making clean parts, a curling iron. Velcro rollers & round brushes (typically for short and mid-length hair courses). Hot rollers, bobby pins & hair pins to match your hair color, large hair ties, small clear elastics, silver clips, and hairspray. Maybe a gel or hair wax or cream for controlling flyaway hair.

Someone or yourself with the appropriate hair length and texture as the models in this course, so you can follow along and practice your new skills!

Time and patience, gentleness toward yourself and a never give up attitude! Boldness to ask models to practice on and bravery to try out new looks on your clients! They will love you for your innovational skills!
