Okay, so here we are less than number 11 your higher senses. Let's go ahead and recap so far we've been talking a lot about images in we first laid out the image of the mind and the body, we drew the image that represented the mind as the big circle major, the small circle to represent the body. And then we separated the mind into three parts. First, the primal mind, Primal mind came factory installed with very important programming which helped us in our survival ability. And second, we looked at the unconscious mind was babies, we were exposed to the thoughts, the images and the ideas of our environment. This exposure shaped our belief systems and our paradigms of how we view the world.

We talked about the internal GPS, which establishes our gauge, if you will, that allows us to make our decisions about everything in life. And then we said that around ages eight to 10, we developed a critical filter, where we started to think more critically for ourselves, which in turn, started to develop our conscious mind, which is the third part of the mind. And we also said, the conscious mind can be referred to as the thinking mind or the critical mind. And then we drew the five cell towers on top of the conscious mind to represent the five physical senses. The five physical senses are we can see hear, smell, taste, and touch. And where we left off in the last lesson, we started to talk about the difference between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom.

So in addition to our five physical senses, we also have six higher senses. Now these six higher senses are as follows their perception, we imagination, memory, intuition and reason. And for the vast majority of people, they're very familiar with their five physical senses, and they make most of their decisions based upon what they can see, hear, smell, taste, or touch. But if we relied solely on our five physical senses, we're very limited. Now, before we get into more detail about the six higher faculties or the six higher senses, I want to talk about the word intelligence. I wanted to find the word intelligence has the ability to overcome obstacles that you've heard me repeat this over and over because intelligence is very important, but I think that a lot of people misinterpret what that actually means.

When we're learning how to overcome and control anxiety. I would call it anxiety, big obstacle for many of us in our lives. And it was certainly a huge obstacle for me for many, many years. So when you first heard me say the word intelligent, what did you think? What was the image that popped onto the screen of your mind? Did you think of someone who has a lot of schooling and a bunch of degrees on their wall?

Well, I'm here to tell you that I've met a lot of doctors. And in fact, for more than 15 years or so, the only clients that I ever worked with were doctors, and I was a consultant for them for years and years, and many of them had lots of degrees, and they certainly had a lot more degrees than I did. But you know, what they needed my help. And they needed my help to overcome a specific area in their life such as, you know, business issues or personal part of their, their personal life that was affecting their practices. And it was not part of their expertise. So they hired me as their coach.

Now, that didn't mean that I was more or less intelligent than they weren't or vice versa. Now, I'm not a medical doctor, and you wouldn't want to come to me if you have a problem with your appendix. That just means that we have different strengths and different skills and different talents in this The same between me and you. Now, there are many things that you can do a lot better than me. And you can do a lot better than most anybody. But think back and remember the story that I told you about the man who fell in the hole.

So intelligence is simply the ability to overcome obstacles. And I can also tell you that I've met a lot of people who don't even have a high school degree. And these individuals are extremely savvy. And quite frankly, there's some of the smartest people that I've ever met. And if you apply the definition of intelligence to the ability to overcome obstacles, these folks are extremely intelligent. So another term that we could use for our conscious mind is our intellectual mind.

You've heard me refer to that and now that should make more sense. Now think of it. Someone is very intelligent when they are faced with an obstacle, or they're faced with a challenge and they can figure out a way to overcome it. That obstacle. Now we live lives that are very limited if we only use our five physical senses to make decisions about our lives. So let's talk about the six higher senses or the six higher faculties, as I will refer to them interchangeably.

So let's start with perception. What is perception? Well, perception is the way that we view the world. It's the lenses that we talked about, right? So let me give you a great example. Let's say that I have a friend, Bill, and Bill happens to be African American.

And Bill is one of my best friends and I'm Caucasian. Now, let's say that one day I'm looking at Bill and I say, Bill, do you know that you're black? Now, he might look at me a little funny because he might be looking at the black shirt I might be wearing that day. And if he puts his hand by my black shirt to make a comparison, well, it may not even be close to the same color. So Bill isn't really black is he? Now he just may be some shoe aid of the color spectrum.

But if I were to label him as black, I might be making a very inaccurate statement. Now on the flip side, what if I happened to be wearing a white shirt that day? And Bill said to me, hey, Jamie, do you know that you're white? Well, I would think in my mind that this is ridiculous, because if you look at my white shirt, and then you look at my skin, well, I'm not white at all. In fact, I'm more of a pinkish color, if you kind of look at me, or pink is peaches. So if bill is not black, and I'm not white, and how come people refer to people as black and some as white?

Well, it's because of the way that we perceive each other. And it is really inaccurate, isn't it? I mean, have you ever seen somebody as white as a sheet of paper or why does that as a white dress shirt? Now, if you saw somebody who was really white, you'd run away because it can be scary. I mean, I'm considered white and I'd be scared I'd run away. So perception is the way that we view the world through our own lenses.

But it doesn't mean it's completely accurate. And remember, we have something called the internal guidance system that directs our decisions and directs our perception based on how we've interpreted our experiences through our upbringing. So perception is neither right nor wrong, and it's neither black nor white. It's just the way that we view things from our point of view. So if you look under my skin, and you looked under bilski, and while we're basically the same, so perception is a higher faculty. But maybe what I'm suggesting is our perception may not be totally accurate.

After all, we are intelligent people, right? So let's look at Well, now we'll is kind of interesting because a lot of people make a huge mistake when it comes to will. Now will is not willpower, and that's the mistake that they make, like the ability to, you know, just not eat that extra piece of chocolate cake because they're on the diet. Now that's not the definition, will is more of the ability to focus specifically focused concentration. Now focus concentration is your ability to hold an image on the screen of your mind for long periods of time. When I teach my law of attraction seminars, Will our focus concentration is extremely important and we cover it in great detail.

Now there's a fantastic example in the movie called The greatest game ever played starring shyla buck. And in the movie, these are golfers who are competing for a championship and it's based upon a true story. When it's their turn to hit the golf ball. They become so focused the and the videography is so incredible. It shows the character concentrating so intently that they're looking down at the fairway and all of a sudden all the distractions go away. The crowd just seems to disappear.

The trees just simply fade away. And it's just they concentrating on their swing. And it's a really great example of the ability to maintain will or focus concentration. Now, if you look at men and women throughout history who achieve incredibly great things, they have a heightened sense of focus, they have the ability to have long, sustained will. So let's now look at imagination. Throughout the course you've heard me say several times, use the power of your imagination and imagination is so important.

Albert Einstein said that imagination is more important and more powerful than knowledge. And I love the quote by Mark Twain. He said, You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. Now, I love that because what it tells me is that my physical sight, a physical sense or a lower sense, pales in comparison to the power of my imagination. And when I think about that, it really just kind of blows my mind and we will truly find As the course continues to go along, that when we use our imagination, it actually becomes incredibly powerful, especially in overcoming anxiety. Now think of everything that exists that man has ever made.

As I look around my office right here. I mean, I look at my desk that the TV monitors the camera. And I mean, at one point that didn't exist, but somebody's imagination was they had the ability to seemingly take these ideas out of the ether, and bring it down and turn it into something material. And to me that that is power. And so let's go on to the next one memory. Now, memory refers to our ability to draw upon past experiences and those past experiences.

We use them to make decisions based upon today. Now, this kind of sounds familiar, doesn't it? When we were little, we had all these experiences and we labeled them positive and negative. And we've been talking about this The entire course. Now, some we've labeled as good and bad. And by using your memory, we then are faced with, or when we're faced with a new piece of information or a new experience or a new obstacles, we can draw upon the past experiences, and use that memory to help us make the decision which can help us in the present.

Or if you don't know what you're doing, you can use those past experiences to make your present situation worse as we're going to find out. Now I like to, you know, when I'm talking to people about memory, and when I hear them say, you know, Jamie, I really have a bad memory. I mean, I think hockey puck, everyone has a perfect memory. Every experience is stored in your book of life in your unconscious mind. And what is happening is in that moment when somebody says I can't remember there, they just have the inability to recall that information. But the reality is, is we are have the perfect memory.

And one of the things that hopefully you'll learn is to draw upon or tap into all of your past experiences. And especially when we're talking about intelligence, the ability to overcome obstacles. Okay, and then let's talk about intuition. Now intuition is that gut feeling is the knowing without knowing. And I'm sure that all of you, at some point have been thinking about a friend that you haven't seen or talked to for years, and then all of a sudden boom for no reason the phone rings, and guess what? This that individual?

Now they're calling you on the line? And gotta wonder how the hell does that work? Is it coincidence? Or is it intuition sounds like a higher faculty to me? And you know what? We all have the ability, and I will tell you a secret.

I don't believe in coincidences. And I believe that there's more to us than we actually realize. And, you know, just like the example that we gave Making the phone call that signal that gets sent down. And somebody is sending a signal that you don't necessarily need a cell tower to know what they're thinking. You have the ability, the innate ability within you to perceive and to receive that intuition before something actually happens. And if you learn to listen to that, it's a huge power, and it can help you in many situations in your life.

Now, let's talk about the sixth hire faculty. And that is our ability to reason now, it is the ability to reason that separates us from the vast majority of all other species, you see, we not only have our five physical senses where we can use those to make decisions, but we also have the higher faculties to make critical decisions in our lives. And it is this ability where if you don't like your past coding or that past programming, you can use your reason capability or your reason faculty because you have to choice to make a difference. And the ability to choose or freewill is innate ability that is one of God's greatest gift to each one of us. Now, we may not have been able to choose the environment in which we were born in which we were raised. But when we develop our higher faculties, and now that you've become a lot more aware of them, it is our reason, capability or reasoning ability that gives us this choice.

We can choose anything that we want, we can change professions that we don't like the one that we're in. We can choose to accept any idea that comes to us we can choose to accept any thought. And when the thought does pop into your mind or somebody presents a new thought you're presented with a new thought or idea, you can choose to accept it or reject it. Now you can choose for example, to turn off this lesson and walk away and never never come back to it. Or you can choose to master and take control of your anxiety and eliminated now You can choose to let your past run your life and take away part of your freedom you can choose right now to let anxiety to run you over. And that too is power because you have the free will to do it.

Now change is within you, and it's within your reach. All you have to do is use your reasoning capabilities simply to make that change, just like you are now by watching and participating in this course, you're choosing to use your higher faculty, which we call reason to put a stop to anxiety and learn to control it, master it and send it on its way. And for that I not only honor you, but you should actually honor yourself because you're actually making change, you're making a decision and you're choosing to live a fuller more expansive life and you should be very proud of yourself. So let's go ahead and recap very quickly. We have our five physical senses where we can see hear, smell, taste and touch. On top of the stick figure.

We do the self Ours and we receive data constantly in our lives, through the physical senses, and we make decisions based upon our life and those experiences. But we now know that those are our lower senses. And we have the ability to tap into these higher faculties. And when you tap into the higher faculties and you combine them with your lower faculties, this gives you the power of your intelligence to overcome any obstacle in life. And so the six higher faculties our perception will margination memory, intuition and reason. So understanding our higher faculties and how to actually use them, allows us tremendous ability, it increases our knowledge and it increases our ability to be more aware of our situation.

Now we can make better more informed decisions can't wait. We can choose anything that we want. As long as we understand that we are intelligent beings, and that choice net control is within us and we have The ability to overcome any obstacle in our life right now. And if we want to crush anxiety and eliminate it as part of our our life, right? You can do this man, I'm excited about this. I'm excited for you.

Because when you start to live your life without anxiety, you learn that these anxiety attacks start to happen, you can now know what to do and you can instantly get rid of them with a little bit of practice. I mean, your life is going to transform and change. So in the next few lessons, we're going to start to discuss how all three of the parts of the mind work together to make these decisions to stop anxiety and stress. So go ahead, do your exercises.
