To learn the reasons why we actually turn to meditation is to learn the benefits of the meditation that we will reap.
There are not just one or two ways to meditate. There are thousands of way to meditate. This course will show you some simple techniques that you can do literally with your eyes open at your desk, on the subway and it takes 1 minute if needed. There are also deeply profound meditation techniques that I will share with you, which again don't take up your time and are also not difficult at all. They are simple, effective from the very first minute you give it a go, and yet they will change the way you feel about yourself and the world around you - for the long run.
There are simple techniques that you can do anywhere and at any given time, even surrounded by people with your eyes wide open. No one would even know that you're meditating. Meditations of this kind will help you increase your level of self-awareness, bringing yourself to the NOW and also to observe and stop your judgment. It hugely impacts your ability to stop your monkey brain interrupting with excessive thinking. You can use this meditation on its own and also as an introduction to some deeper meditations that we will explain in the following videos.
This meditation is perfect to do at work, on public transport or when over-thinking.
These meditations mentioned in the video are a state where you manage to bring yourself to the present moment, even if you achieve a few seconds to start with. Like a muscle, you will need to practice mindfulness to extend the period of being here and now. It will help you tame your monkey mind, the over-thinking and prepare you for some deeper meditation that I will share tomorrow, that allow you to work with your painful emotions and reactions.
The meditations mentioned in this lesson are of an introspective nature, and they stem from Tibetan Buddhism. These meditations have a huge impact on getting to know yourself, how your thought process works, what is weighing you down, reflecting on your reactions and emotions that cause you pain and disturbance and within that meditation use wisdom and calm to remove yourself from them and gain a new, liberating perspective on those same feelings. These meditations are transforming because they are awakening your mind to new and wiser perspective on yourself and those around you - that is true why we get to meditation in the first place, we want to stop suffering and we want to change something for it. The object of the meditation is you, and this is an amazing opportunity to say hello to yourself finally! They have a huge impact on your overall behavior and seeing things in life differently in comparison to before. They are also easy to do and will gain your wisdom you've never realized you had within you. The result is resilience, compassion, patience, kindness, forgiveness, tolerance, humor, self-acceptance. It is not an overnight exercise; it's a life practice. Diligence is the key, and self-compassion is the fastest way to get all the results listed. Remove any should's, must's and pressure. And enjoy!
As you learned, meditation is your own mind working through your emotions. If you are committed to understand the true nature of your emotions and to heal, then watch this video on how to get to the root cause of your suffering.

This is a course on how to start meditation in a simple yet meaningful way. In a simple and modern language, we get to understand why it's important to meditate. This course is an introduction to a variety of techniques that any of us can use as we need.

Meditation isn't a means to an end. Meditation helps us cope with our daily struggles. BUT, it's also not supposed to be as difficult as we hear all around us. Meditation is here for us to understand our mind, and once we understand it, we will be able to control it so that we can become the master of our actions and reactions.

This course helps students to get motivated for their practice after they get a simple, grounded, and practical explanation as to how to meditate. Techniques explained in this course can be done even with open eyes at your desk at work or on a subway. They will have an impact on your life. With hearing about these simple truths about meditation, students not only stay with the simple techniques but often progress quickly to a level where they meditate at least 10-15 minutes every morning.
