Verse number four is very similar to verse number three, but it's different. That makes no sense. I know but it is, that's the way it is. It's similar, but it's different. So let me play verse number four all the way through from the turnaround. So there, it's another walking bass type thing, but it's got some variations in it.

So the basic lick is like this, starting off on the third fret, so we're playing over the G, the third fret of the sixth string. And this time, we're going directly to the fifth fret of the fifth string twice, then to the third fret of the fourth string. third fret fourth string twice by three, so the whole lick and then it repeats it. I think the second time he plays that right at the beginning, over the one he's going to play this where he stops on the fifth fret you listen to it, see what you think it's Sorry, I hear the song so many times, but that's pretty much what he's doing. He repeats that. Now when it goes to the floor, he's just going to do the same thing he did in the previous first start on the bass note, the third fret of the fifth string RC.

Just move everything over. So you can see how I did that go into the fifth fret of the fourth string, then 353 on the third string, so over See, you got this. Back to the one. Now you listen to this. It sounds to me like there's little scraping going on Freddie came we saw the palm muting technique that I showed you in the opening the introduction to the lessons when I went over summit, Freddy kings trademark routines, and sometimes I hear this sounds almost like he's doing some palm muting, scraping around in there, it could be the second guitar. You know, listen to it, see what you think.

And we can talk about this a little bit later. When it gets over the five, he's just gone to the fifth fret of the fifth string, seventh fret of the fourth string 575 on the third string there's another variation. So when he comes back to the one he's gonna do this to get to the turnaround. So let's play it from the five to the four to the one and listen to this carefully 535 on the fourth string. So, let's play that whole verse, real slow one time through from the turnaround of the previous verse. And then he's gonna go into the solo right there.

So, third and the fourth verses are real similar. He's using these bass lines being played over, really the chords, the first position G bar chord, the second position C, and the second position D. And it's real simple, but it's got a great groove to it. And Freddie this is the thing that I really one of the many things I really like about his playing is how he could take something so simple and make it sound so rich and so full and so full of tone and so great stuff. All right, we're gonna move on to the solo only come back
