Welcome back, and welcome to arguably one of the most important parts of the process when it comes to tempo methodology. In this lecture, we'll be talking about the plan, or the planning phase, where we get to design our game plan for success. So let's get started. Now most other courses or tips and tricks out there for time management when not always talk about planning, everyone has heard of planning, but do we really know how to effectively do it? Well, I'll tell you, No, we don't. Everyone when it comes to planning fails at it pretty bad.
And you know, because because most people just make up some plan they think will work. And then they'll do it. And then they'll just pray and hope that it works. That's why most people are wrong. You have to do the research. Specifically, you have to test you have to evaluate and you have to manage a plan by itself is nothing.
It's useless. Without the proper time invested into creating a successful strategy for success. So how do we actually create a great plan for us? Well, we take everything we've learned thus far about our schedule, and how we go about our day to day and actually set up some goals and expectations to work towards creating a better self. This is exactly when our short term and long term goals come into play. I'm not necessarily going to go into why goal setting is so important right now.
But just know that without goals, you can't succeed. If you don't have a goal or something to work towards, then, you know, how can you succeed, success is defined as accomplishing or reaching a goal. So set some goals, focus on short term goals that keep you in the right lane of life, but that are also challenging. So again, I spent about two and a half hours in total working on my YouTube stuff for the day. So let's set some goals for this. Well, let's set a simple you know, you Get challenging goal to only spend two hours a day on YouTube.
That means shaving off 30 minutes manageable yet challenging. Plus, we also can't sacrifice quality. Now again, let's reference what we learned in previous phases of tempo. Okay, we need to block out the distractions and improve efficiency with our templates when we're doing our YouTube work. Okay, done deal. We can do this and we have detailed research.
So we know this is one possible and to effective. Alright, now to move on to our long term goals. I want to get an extra hour of sleep. If I efficiently utilize my time. This will be a bonus side effect that you know i'd appreciate to have a little more sleep who doesn't love a little more sleep and too I want consistent in positively green days. Remember, I had a pretty decent day.
There was a lot of green on my note sheet. So you know I want to stay at this level of efficiency for the majority of the To come, bam, this is doable as well. For the same reasons our short term goals are doable. Plus, know that these goals are both quantifiable, and qualifiable. One goal of each has a number. So I want at least one extra hour asleep.
I didn't just say I want more sleep, you have to be accurate to make sure you work towards achieving this. I like to set one goal that has a specific number to reach. And then one goal that is what I call a soft goal, something that is unquantifiable, but works in conjunction with my daily schedule and the other goals that I have. And keep in mind, I'm not just setting these goals, I'm writing these down, changing my environment around me and making sure that I know these are my goals for the day or maybe for the week. And that's it simple, set some accurate goals that are backed by your research, and you'll be that much more closer and achieving success by using your time effectively. And just remember that this stage in the tempo process is nothing without the previous stages.
So work on taking those detailed notes to allow for adequate planning to occur. And, you know, again, that's pretty much it when it comes to planning. There's one more crucial phase in the tempo methodology. So let's dive into that in the next lecture. I'll see you then.
