Cancer Treatment Treatment Anesthesiologist Anesthesiologists are doctors trained to work on perioperative care of patients before, during and after surgery. Their work involves anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Typically, anesthesiologist meets their patients prior to a surgery to ensure they are medically fit for the anesthesia and the procedure. After the check and before the surgery starts, the patient is administered general or local anesthesia by the anesthesiologist. Such specialists understand the physiology of pain, and work on evaluating patients with complicated pain problems. They also recommend specialized tests for diagnosis of pain, and prescribe medicines to alleviate the pain. General Physician General Physicians are highly trained specialists who provide the non-surgical treatment to adult patients, particularly who are referred to them by other doctors, most commonly by the patient's general practitioner. They care for the most difficult, serious or complex medical problems and continue to see the patient until these problems have been stabilized or resolved completely. General physicians are trained to carry out a variety of medical procedures for the diagnosis and management of patients with infectious and tropical diseases like HIV, tuberculosis, Kala Azar, Malaria, Cholera, and Diarrhea. Plastic Surgeon A plastic surgeon is the doctor specialized in operating the patient's body or face in order to reconstruct or repair the affected area. A plastic surgeon performs two types of surgery: reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery is performed in order to repair defects and injuries, while cosmetic surgery is performed to enhance physical appearance. Cosmetic surgery is also known as aesthetic surgery. Examples of the cosmetic surgery are a face or nose lifts.
Spine Specialist A spine specialist is a health specialist who is concerned with treating conditions related to spine. These specialists include physiatrists, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, which is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the spine, pain management physicians, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and many rheumatologists and neurologists. Selecting the most suitable type of health specialist or a team of specialists depends largely on the nature, severity, and duration of a symptoms of a patient.
Surgical Oncologist A surgical oncologist is a doctor who is trained in preventing, diagnosing and treating all types of cancer. They are educated and trained in both surgery and oncology field. A surgical oncologist performs some specific medical test called biopsy for diagnosing cancer and perform certain surgeries for removing the cancerous tumor and their nearby tissue. Some of the common medical procedures performed by a surgical oncologist are imaging technology, chemical and biological therapy, and radiation therapy.
