As cancers vary in scope, nature and how they impact patients, the field of cancer treatment is further divided into several specializations. Endocrinologist Endocrinologists are doctors trained to work with patients having hormone-related diseases. These doctors are trained to diagnose and manage diseases that affect the glands (adrenal glands, hypothalamus, ovaries and testicles, pancreas, parathyroid, pineal, pituitary, thymus, and thyroid) and the hormones. The endocrinologist helps in restoring hormone balance in the impacted gland. As part of their work, endocrinologists commonly treat diabetes, osteoporosis, menopause, metabolic disorders, thyroid diseases, some cancers (including thyroid cancer, pituitary tumor, parathyroid cancer, and adrenocortical carcinoma), short stature, and infertility.
General Physician General Physicians are highly trained specialists who provide the non-surgical treatment to adult patients, particularly who are referred to them by other doctors, most commonly by the patient's general practitioner. They care for the most difficult, serious or complex medical problems and continue to see the patient until these problems have been stabilized or resolved completely. General physicians are trained to carry out a variety of medical procedures for the diagnosis and management of patients with infectious and tropical diseases like HIV, tuberculosis, Kala Azar, Malaria, Cholera, and Diarrhea. They also undertake the teaching and administrative responsibilities which includes supervision and training to medical staff, planning medical programs, management of hospital pharmacy, and proper monitoring of medical activities in the hospital.
General Surgeon A general surgeon is a physician who has been educated, experienced and trained in the diagnosis and preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient health care. They are highly trained in various medical fields such as emergency, and intensive care, immunology, metabolism, nutrition, shock, and wound healing. General surgeons basically perform surgical operations of the major parts of the human body which involves endocrine system, gastrointestinal tract, liver, large intestine. They also perform the surgeries which are done through small incisions on body parts. Some of the surgical procedures which include removal of the appendix, gallbladder and excessive fat removal from the body are also done by a general physician.
Nutritionist A nutritionist provides guides on the matters of nutrition and food and their impacts on the health of human. There are different professional terms used for a nutritionist in different countries some of them are nutrition scientist, dietitian-nutritionist, public health nutritionist, clinical nutritionist, and sports nutritionist. Nutritionists focus on planning healthy diets. Some nutritionists also give the educational services or programs to aware the public on the strategies for healthy eating.
Obesity Specialist Obesity-specialist or bariatric physician is a healthcare provider who uses a broad treatment plan for weight loss which involves a balanced nutritional diet, exercise, behavior changes, and medicines. He or she may advise for weight loss surgery during severe conditions of obesity. A bariatric treatment plan is done to treat obesity, and also the health conditions associated with obesity such as hypertension, diabetes and kidney diseases.
