They also undertake the teaching and administrative responsibilities which includes supervision and training to medical staff, planning medical programs, management of hospital pharmacy, and proper monitoring of medical activities in the hospital.
Neurologist A neurologist is a doctor who practices in neurology. Neurology is the science related to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the nervous system. A neurologist treats disorders affecting nerves, brain, spinal cord and cerebrovascular diseases, such as stroke, headache, movement disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, infections of the brain and nervous system, Alzheimer's disease, seizures disorders including epilepsy, spinal cord disorders, and speech and language disorders. Orthopedic Surgeon An orthopedic surgeon is a doctor who focuses on the diseases and injuries of the muscle and skeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons deal with the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disorders of the joints, bones, tendons, ligaments, and muscles like musculoskeletal trauma, degenerative diseases, spine diseases, sports injuries, and congenital disorders. Some orthopaedists specialize in certain areas such as foot and ankle, hip and knee, hand, spine shoulder, and elbow. They initially provide nonsurgical options like pain medication or rehabilitation. They also expertise in performing surgery to repair or correct the injuries.
Physiatrist Physiatrists are the professionals who use a variety of techniques such as medications, modalities, injections, prosthetics/orthotics, therapeutic exercise, adaptive devices, and cognitive therapy to treat patients of all ages. Physiatrists promote physiologic adjustment to disability to prevent complications or degeneration secondary to disabling diseases. The goal of the physiatrist is to give medical care to patients with numbness, pain, spasticity, weakness, loss of function, and complete loss of muscle tone (flaccidity) so that they can improve quality of life emotionally, physically, vocationally and psychosocially. Physiatrists may use musculoskeletal ultrasound and electro diagnostics to help aid in the diagnosis of complex neurologic or musculoskeletal injuries.
Physical Therapist Physical therapists are the health care professionals who diagnose as well as treat patients of all ages who have problems or some other health-related difficulties that may limit their ability to perform activities in their daily life. They offer cost-effective treatment that focuses on improvement of mobility and relieving pain, reducing the need for surgery and prescription drugs, and informs patients to participate in a recovery plan which is designed for their needs. In addition to this, physical therapists work with patients to prevent the loss of mobility by developing the fitness and wellness programs for a more healthy and active lifestyle.
Physiotherapist Physiotherapists are a degree-based healthcare professional who helps people with physical difficulties resulting from injury, disability through movement, and illness. They treat many types of conditions such as neurological (stroke, Parkinson, multiple sclerosis), neuromusculoskeletal (back pain, sports injuries, arthritis), cardiovascular (chronic heart disease), and respiratory (asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) by providing manual therapy (such as massage), electrotherapy, and therapeutic exercise. They work alone or in a team alongside health and social care professionals such as occupational therapists, district nurses, health visitors, and social workers.
Spine Surgeon Orthopedic surgeons or spine surgeons are the professionals concerned with surgery of the musculoskeletal system. They use both surgical as well as nonsurgical means for treating musculoskeletal trauma, degenerative diseases, spine diseases, sports injuries, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. They are Medical Doctors (MD) or Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) who have completed a five year of surgical education which focusses on the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
